Abstract
Today, alpha-lipoic acid is known as a hepatoprotective drug, as an antioxidant, and is successfully used to treat various liver diseases, complications of diabetes, and many other conditions. Data on the cardioprotective properties of alpha-lipoic acid and research on its use in cardiovascular diseases are increasingly found in the literature. In this review, we will analyze the possibilities of using alpha-lipoic acid.
