Abstract

The number of patients with type 2 diabetes requiring insulin treatment significantly increases, and today, there are many more patients with type 2 diabetes, than ones with type 1 diabetes. Currently, more than 30% of all patients with type 2 diabetes receive insulin. At the same time, indications for insulin institution and choice of tactics of insulin therapy in type 2 diabetes are not as unambiguous as in type 1 diabetes. Schemes of insulin therapy and its institution are key issues today.
