Abstract
Some diagnostic problems and approaches to management of patients with aortic aneurism were described based on this clinical case. In particular, the role of careful clinical examination, history taking and usefulness of routine diagnostic tests like electrocardiography, chest X-ray and aortic ultrasound underwent analysis. Discussion included decision-making process for selection of the best treatment strategy. Definite considerations were made concerning target levels of blood pressure, heart rate and use of appropriate antihypertensive, pulse lowering medications.
