The COVID-19 pandemic: the Ukrainian context of the problem from the point of view of ordinary general practitioner

Abstract

In review article we represent Ukrainian context of the COVID-2019 pandemic problem based on own experiences and analysis situation of pharmaceutical market. We tried to adapt the existing Ukrainian drugs to the world guidelines for the treatment of coronavirus disease. Antiviral drugs (Proteflazid® and Flavovir®), antiseptic agent decamethoxine, inductors of endogenous interferon (tylurone and some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), domestic silicon dioxide sorbents (Polyphyte-D 25) and the latest generation of endogenous regenerative biological immunomodulatory agents (ERBISOL®, ERBISOL® Extra and ERBISOL® ULTRApharm) are very popular in doctors and patients during epidemic outbreaks of ARI and influenza. Determine in the national protocols the specific schemes and method of proper use these domestic drug agents according the clinical experience and the logic of the arguments is one of the question for experts of Ukrainian institutions. Relying on the experience of using these domestic drugs in the complex therapy of ARVI and influenza, it would be logical to determine the predicted feasibility of their use against viral infection COVID-19.
