Abstract
Restoration of deformed tissues and lost organs of the human body has always been an urgent issue in the circle of medical and social problems of mankind. Facial injury is particularly difficult for functional and cosmetic restoration. The war, the high level of traumatism, especially the destructive power of modern weapons and the growing number of oncological diseases, congenital malformations caused the demand for reconstructive surgical interventions. The rapid growth of patients with extensive combined injuries of the head and neck is a complex problem of modern medical science and practice. The article presents the leading medico-social aspects of reconstructive surgery and their relationship with the psychological state of patients with facial defects and deformities.
