Abstract

This study highlights the general theoretical and practical aspects of the cardiac rehabilitation impact on the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after stenting. The role of physical therapy in the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after stenting was analyzed and the method of physical therapy was developed as well as its effectiveness was tested. Aim: to develop and test methods of physical therapy for the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after stenting. Material and methods. In total, the study lasted 5 weeks. During these 5 weeks, 8 patients participated in the study. Sessions according to the developed methodology of physical therapy were conducted with each patient for 12 days. Selection criteria for this study: age: 50-80 years old, medical diagnosis: myocardial infarction, after stenting, no contraindications to cardiac rehabilitation. Results and their discussion. The effectiveness of the developed method of physical therapy for the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after stenting was tested. Changes in the performance of tests: Timed Up and Go, 10 Metre Walk Test, 6 Minute Walk Test indicate improved adaptation and tolerance of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems to exercise, as well as normalization of blood pressure, heart rate and SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation). The test results were compared according to Wilcoxon’s test. Confirmation of the alternative hypothesis indicates statistically significant changes in test results. Conclusions. Physical exercises, as a means of physical therapy in the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after undergoing stenting, improve the general physical condition of patients, increase their functional capabilities, improve indicators of cardiovascular and respiratory system activity and have a positive effect on life quality. This study confirmed the importance of physical therapy in the recovery of patients with acute myocardial infarction after stenting.
