Abstract
The situation of Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine has reached the level of an extraordinary humanitarian catastrophe with a massive traumatic impact on broad segment of the population, including the combatants, their families and civilians. Stress factors are multiple, reactions to a stressful situation can be different both in content and in the trajectory of development. The paper considers the state of anxiety as a normal emotional reaction to traumatic experience, analyzes the structure and dynamics of manifestations of anxiety, provides data on methods and techniques of coping with anxiety. Anxiety can also be transformed into a pathological condition in the structure of the anxiety disorders or can be observed as a symptom of another psychiatric pathology. Data on the criteria of pathological anxiety, modern methods of treatment of anxiety are presented.
