Abstract
The aim of this research was to study the way the critical components of the stress response can lead to the development of hypertension. Considering the literature data and taking into account our own investigation the possible scenario of the events can be stated which originally develops as a component of the adaptive stress response. In the subsequent failure of adaptation it potentially carries the risk of damage to the cells, the development of systemic low-level inflammation, endothelial dysfunction which creates the conditions for persistent increased blood pressure and accelerated atherogenesis. The knowledge that has been gained can be used both as a theoretical basis for extending the list of «markers»- used to confirm the low intensity of systemic inflammation, and for the development of new therapeutic strategies to correct the stress-induced disorders.
