Abstract
The article presents the current published data about hypertension and hyperuricemia relationship. Pathogenetic mechanisms of progression of hypertension and cardiovascular complications in patients with elevated levels of uric acid are described. The role of early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of hyperuricemia in these patients is reviewed.
