SOLOMENCHUK TETYANA MYKOLAYIVNA

professor, Doctor of Medicine, Head of the Department of Family Medicine of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University

 

Professor specializes in researching in area of cardiology, namely, the study of the causes and mechanisms of the development of arteriosclerosis, acute and chronic forms of coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension and chronic kidney disease, the role of the vulnerable impact on the heart, blood vessels and other target organs of xenobiotics - foreign substances, which enter the human body as a result of environmental, professional, household contact or smoking.

Tetyana Mykolaivna Solomenchuk was born on August 27, 1963 in Kalynyvka, Vinnytsia region. In 1986 she graduated with honors the Ivano-Frankivsk State Medical Institute majoring in "medical affairs". After her internship (1986-1987) she worked as a therapist in the medical center of the Lviv Association of Radio-Electronic Equipment, and since 1989 - as a cardiologist in this and other health care institutions in Lviv. Since 2000 she has been working at the Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi, where she progressed from assistant to professor.

The scientist is a follower of the Scientific School of Cardiovascular Pathology of Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi which was created and functions under the leadership of member-correspondent of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Zerbino Dmytro Deonysovich. She began her scientific activity immediately after the internship and already in 1996 working as a practicing doctor defended her PhD thesis at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Cardiology named after M.D. Strazheska. She is the Doctor of Medical Sciences since 2008. From 2020 - Guarantor of the educational and scientific program for the preparation of higher education applicants for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty 222 Medicine.

Tetiana Mykolaivna Solomenchuk – is a member of the European Association of Cardiology (ESC, 2008), the European ACCA Association (Acute Cardiac Care, 2012), the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EuroPrevent, 2011), the Ukrainian Society of Cardiologists (2003), the Ukrainian Society of Family Physicians (2003), Ukrainian Society of Arrhythmologists of Ukraine (2011). The scientist has more than 400 scientific works, including 6 textbooks, 7 manuals, 4 patents, author's certificates, 29 methodological recommendations, and 185 scientific articles in domestic and foreign publications. Tetyana Mykolaivna Solomenchuk – is a member of the editorial board of two scientific journals, a specialized scientific board for the defense of candidate's and doctoral theses. She has already prepared 4 candidates of sciences. Today she supervises 5 post-graduate students and doctoral students.

The results of scientific research of Solomenchuk T.M. significantly complement modern ideas about the predictors of the development of acute forms of coronary heart disease, features of coronary artery damage, the clinical course of myocardial infarction and post-infarction rehabilitation in people who are exposed to toxic effects of chemical compounds and smokers, in particular women, which allows timely identification of persons with an increased risk of the disease and carry out appropriate preventive measures, carry out early diagnosis of the disease and prevent severe complications, reduce the duration of the hospital treatment period. Scientific work of Solomenchuk T.M. is an important part of the ecological concept of the development of acute coronary pathology in young people which is being developed by the scientific school of cardiovascular pathology under the leadership of member-cor. Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Zerbino Dmytro Deonysovich.
