Abstract
The prevalence of dementia is increasing with population aging, and Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 50-70% of cases, characterized by a prolonged preclinical course with progressive cognitive decline and disability. In the presented clinical case of a 75-year-old patient with Alzheimer’s disease, NSAID-associated gastropathy developed as a result of uncontrolled diclofenac use related to manifestations of anterograde amnesia. Cognitive impairment complicated history taking, assessment of treatment adherence, and timely diagnosis, highlighting the importance of early detection of dementia, family psychoeducation, and multidisciplinary follow-up to prevent somatic complications.
