Abstract
The article analyzes strategic directions for improving postgraduate medical education in «General Practice – Family
Medicine» based on the materials of the technical meeting organized by the WHO Country Office in Ukraine (April 2, 2026). The
critical challenges of PHC workforce staffing in the context of war and specialist shortages are examined. The necessity of reforming
the internship through increased training duration, implementation of a competence-based approach, and the integrated care
model is justified. Special attention is paid to strengthening cooperation between universities and clinical training sites, creating
university hubs, expanding the role of nurses in multidisciplinary teams, and digitalizing education. Ways to improve the CPD
system through the transition to professional competence assessment and enhanced quality control of educational services are
identified.
