Abstract
Today, chronic pelvic pain (CPT) is a serious challenge for health care systems around the world, which is due to the variability of the causes of the development of the pathology, a non-specific clinical picture, the lack of generally accepted diagnostic and treatment algorithms, and therapy failures. At the same time, more and more attention is being paid to the quality of life of women suffering from long-term pain syndrome. Objective. To assess the quality of life of patients with CTB based on the validated SF-36 questionnaire. Materials and methods. The main group of patients consisted of 150 patients with a clinical picture of chronic pelvic pain (CPT), the control group was represented by 50 women without gynecological and somatic pathology at the time of the study. The survey was carried out using the SF-36 questionnaire, which involves respondents answering questions in eight blocks characterizing various aspects of the quality of life of patients with CTB. Results. In patients with CTB, a significant decrease in quality of life was observed on all scales of the SF-36 questionnaire, while there was a statistically significant difference in indicators between the main and control groups (p<0.001). Conclusion. Low indicators of the scales of the SF-36 questionnaire in women of the studied cohort indicate a significant impact of CTB on all areas of patients' quality of life. Since the quality of life is a complex concept and includes the physical, mental and social condition of the patient, its assessment helps to obtain information about the patient's individual reaction to the course of the disease and allows implementing a more personalized approach when planning and carrying out diagnostic and treatment measures. In addition, quality of life indicators can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
