Abstract
A full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war has been going on in Ukraine for about a year. Missile and drone attacks are carried out almost every day, as a result of which Ukrainian civilians suffer. From now on, we are constantly working with such diagnosis as mine-explosive injury. Unfortunately, this type of injury is often accompanied by massive bleeding, which changes the priority areas of medical care. It has been proven that for patients with massive bleeding, the correct choice of infusion fluid should first of all be whole blood, because it has numerous advantages. To enable the use of whole blood in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health updated the legislative framework. The First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv has started using whole blood for patients of all age groups almost from the first days of the war. In the article, we list the advantages of using whole blood, as well as the personal experience of the whole blood transfusion in all age groups, in particular pediatric.
