Abstract
Over the last few years, the treatment of neuropathic pain syndrome (NPS) by using pharmacological agents causes positive changes only in half of patients. In this regard, the most interest is the wide range of use of the drug gabapentin in clinical practice, i.e. relevance of its use for the relief of neuropathic pain of various origins. It is proved, that gabapentin manifests itself as an effective tool to facilitate neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, painful polyneuropathy, conditions associated with peripheral neuropathic pain, including trigeminal neuralgia and central pain syndrome.
