Abstract

147 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were examined and observed for 2 years. There was found that the incidence of both antibodies to cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) and rheumatoid factor (RF) increases linearly depending on the disease duration. Presence of anti-CCP in the blood of patients is associated with higher RA activity compared to RF, higher frequency of extra-articular manifestations of RA and worse clinical and radiological treatment response.
