Abstract
This article focuses on the CKD that can be considered as an independent risk factor that accelerates the cardiovascular disease processes, contributing to the development of myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure and other cardiovascular complications. The process of the cardiovascular system damage in patients with CKD begins very early, long before they reach the end stage of the disease. The critical point is the size of the GFR, corresponding to approximately 45 ml/min, below which begins an increasing increase in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, reaching a maximum in patients with terminal renal insufficiency.
