Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the clinical management of patients with chronic liver disease and theoretical reasoning of processes taking place at the same time. In the treatment of liver disease, ademetionine (S-adenosyl-L-methionine, trademark Heptral®, Abbott Laboratories SA) was found to be one of the most optimal drugs. The data on the drug based on the results of high-quality experimental and clinical studies, as well as recommendations for the practical use to achieve its maximum efficiency, were presented. In addition to liver disease, the most studied areas of therapeutic use of ademetionine are depression and osteoarthritis.
